Add Cole to a WhatsApp, LINE, Telegram, Slack or Teams group and it works for everyone in it. This page says exactly what it sees there, what it keeps, and whose accounts it uses.
What Cole sees
In WhatsApp and LINE groups, what members write reaches Cole as background, including messages that do not mention it. Cole replies only when someone tags it, uses its name, or replies to one of its messages. That background is how it can answer "what did we agree this morning?" without everyone tagging it all day.
In Telegram groups, Cole only receives the messages that tag it. In Slack and Teams channels, Cole answers when someone mentions it.
What stays in the group
What a group says is kept with that group's conversation. Cole does not carry it into other chats, and nothing from your private chats or private notes comes into a group. Files shared in a chat are kept for 7 days and can only be read back in that same chat.
Whose accounts Cole uses
When you ask Cole in a group to send an email, check a calendar or book something, it uses your own connected accounts, never the group owner's. If you have not connected an account, Cole tells you instead of borrowing someone else's. Purchases and other approvals stay with the person whose account it is.
Names
You can give Cole a nickname. A nickname works in the chats of the account that set it, and in groups that account pays for. It does not carry into groups someone else pays for.
Cole's WhatsApp number
Everyone who uses Cole on WhatsApp talks to the same Cole number. Its name and profile photo are the same for everyone, so they cannot be changed for one person or one group.
Who pays
Cole's work in a group is billed to the account that set the group up with Cole. Other members do not need an account to take part. On paid plans, Cole's replies in your groups carry no "Sent via Cole" line.
New members Live
When someone joins a WhatsApp, LINE or Telegram group, Cole answers them using only what is said after they joined. If an answer needs something from before, Cole first asks the account that pays for the group, in its private chat with Cole, in the group's language. Until that yes, earlier messages, notes and files stay out of reach. People who were in a group before 6 October 2026 keep things as they were.
Guests Live
Members who are not part of the paying account can talk to Cole in the group, but Cole will not use that account's email, calendar, connected apps, payments or calls for them until the account says yes, once per group.
Removing Cole or forgetting things
Remove Cole from a group like any other member. Ask Cole to forget something, or to keep a note private, and it will. To delete everything, use "Delete my workspace" in your settings: it permanently deletes your account and its data from Cole. Questions go to privacy@pocodot.ai.
