Your notes stay yours: privacy in shared chats

Cole remembers things so you do not have to repeat yourself: your preferences, the people you work with, what you asked last week. When the same Cole also sits in team channels and family groups, the obvious question is who else can see what you told him. On 1 October we changed the rule so the answer is simple: your notes belong to you.

    What stays in your chats

Notes Cole saves from your private chats are used only in your own chats. They do not show up in a group conversation or in a teammate's private chat. Reminders and conversation history follow the same rule. In your own private chat, Cole can also use what you said in groups you take part in, so a plan agreed in a group is still there when you follow up one to one.

    Private on purpose

Tell Cole "keep this private" and the note is stored as private. Cole also treats personal details, such as health information, as private when he saves them, without you having to ask.

    Forget it

Ask Cole to forget something and he deletes the note. You do not need to find a settings page; asking in the chat is enough.

Share it when you mean to

Some notes should be shared: the office address, a client's preferred meeting time, the team's travel policy. Ask Cole to share a note with your team or with the group, and it becomes available there. Sharing is something you choose, not a side effect of where you happened to type.

    Calls follow the same rule

Since 4 October, Call History in your Pocodot account shows each person the calls they asked for. The workspace owner can see every call in the workspace and can choose which admins may review them too. Each call shows its summary, transcript and the credits it used.

    What to do now

    • Nothing, if you are happy with the new defaults. They apply to every workspace.
    • If you told Cole something in a group that you would rather keep to yourself, ask him to forget it.
    • Read how we handle data on the security page and in the privacy policy.

Every dated change is also on the changelog.
