Using Cole: from a request to a checked result
Connect the right account, choose the right audience and check the outcome. This guide explains what to look for when delegating a task.
What can Cole do?
Cole handles research, writing, email, scheduling and connected workflows through messaging channels. The actions available to you depend on your connected accounts, their permissions and your plan. Start with one small task and check the result in the source application.
What needs my approval?
Review the account, recipient, wording and cost before asking Cole to send, buy or change something. Browser workflows can request an approval code; connected tools and workspace policies have their own controls. If Cole asks for approval, the task is waiting, not finished. Do not assume every connector uses the same approval flow.
Who can see private information?
The conversation destination matters. People in a shared channel can see messages posted there, so use a direct message for personal work. Connected accounts, browser access and workspace roles have separate access controls. Review the security and privacy documentation and ask support about the exact workflow before sharing sensitive records.
How do I connect multiple mailboxes?
Open Integrations and connect the intended provider account. Check the email address shown beside the connection; your sign-in email is not proof that a mailbox is connected. Connecting one mailbox does not connect your other addresses. State the intended mailbox in the task and verify the sender before sending. Availability of multiple accounts and account selection varies by connector.
What does a task cost?
The Free plan includes 150 one-time credits to try Cole. Paid plans include monthly credits; tasks consume credits according to the action and work performed. Voice usage is metered rather than unlimited. Check current pricing and the balance and usage shown in Billing. A merchant purchase or a separate app subscription is an additional cost.
How do I know a task finished?
Check the destination: a sent message, calendar event, updated record or merchant confirmation. A draft, an approval request or “I will do that” is not evidence of completion. Ask for the relevant source or confirmation and inspect the correct account. A screenshot can show a step in progress without proving the final transaction completed.
What if an action fails or times out?
Check the connection, account and permissions. A timeout may leave the outcome uncertain, so inspect the destination before retrying a send, booking or purchase. If you cannot establish the result, pause the task and contact support with the time and task reference. Do not include passwords or access tokens in a support message.
Try a simple mailbox workflow
- Connect your work Gmail and check the displayed address.
- In a direct message, request a summary of a specific thread and a draft reply.
- Compare the summary with the original, then review the reply and recipients.
- If you authorize sending through an available action, verify the message in Sent mail.
