An AI assistant for your LINE chats and groups

To add an AI assistant to LINE, add Cole as a LINE friend (search @pocodot) and message it in your private chat. To use it in a group, invite Cole into the group and call it by name, @mention it or reply to one of its messages. Cole is the AI assistant from Pocodot: in your private chat it works with your own email and calendar, and in a group it answers everyone, posts reminders and keeps up with what the group said.

Our other LINE guides cover one side each: the private chat, the group setup and the other AI options on LINE. This page puts the two together: what changes when the same assistant moves from your private chat into a group, the rules LINE itself sets for any AI account in a group, and what LY Corporation has announced for LINE since.

Private chat or group: what changes

Your private chat with ColeA LINE group with Cole
Who Cole answersYou.Anyone who calls Cole by name, @mentions Cole or replies to one of its messages, once the group has a payer. Until then, only members with their own Pocodot account.
What Cole works fromYour chat, and your other private chats with Cole on WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage and Slack when they are linked to the same Pocodot account. The group's own messages and notes, from after Cole joined. Never your private chats.
Whose accountsYour own Gmail, Google Calendar or Outlook once you connect them. Cole asks before anything goes out in your name. Each person's own connected accounts, never the group payer's for someone else.
Who paysYour account's credits. The member who said yes when Cole asked in a private chat. Until someone says yes, each member with an account pays for their own questions.
Who sees the replyOnly you.Everyone in the group.
Someone new joinsDoes not apply.Cole answers them using only what is said after they joined.

A simple rule follows from the table: ask about your own email, calendar or anything private in your private chat with Cole, and ask in the group for things the whole group should see, such as a reminder for everyone or a recap of what was agreed.

Set it up in 5 steps

    01
    Add Cole as a friend
In LINE, search for @pocodot or open lin.ee/WY8gSoF on your phone, then tap Add.
    02
Set up your account from the chat
Send Cole a message. If you are new, Cole replies with a Start with Cole button. Sign in with LINE and your free account is ready, with 150 one-time credits. If you already use Cole, connect LINE from your dashboard at pocodot.ai.
    03
Try one thing in your private chat
For example Cole, remind me on Friday at 10am to pay the deposit. To have Cole draft email or put meetings on your calendar, connect Gmail, Google Calendar or Outlook to your Pocodot account first.
    04
    Invite Cole into a group
Open the group, open its menu and choose Invite, then pick Cole from your friends. Cole joins quietly and does not post a welcome message.
    05
Ask once in the group and say yes to paying for it
Ask Cole something in the group. Cole answers from your own credits, then asks you in your private chat whether your account should pay for everyone in this group. Say yes, and anyone in the group can ask Cole. Nobody becomes the payer without saying yes, and the group is not told who pays.

LINE's own rules for an AI in a group

Cole runs on LINE as a LINE Official Account, the kind of account businesses and bots use. LINE's developer documentation sets two rules for every such account in a group:

    • One official account per group. LINE says only one LINE Official Account can be in a group chat at any time. If your group already has one, such as a shop's account or another bot, Cole has no place there until that account leaves. Remove it first, or use a separate group for Cole.
    • Replies are shown to everyone. LINE says messages an official account sends in a group are displayed to all members. Cole's answers in a group are public to that group, which is why private questions belong in your private chat.

Two more things come from how Cole works: it sees only messages sent after it joined the group, and it never leaves a group on its own. To remove it, remove Cole the same way you remove any member.

What LINE itself offers in 2026

We checked LY Corporation's own pages on 21 October 2026.

    • LINE AI Assistant has ended. LY ended its LINE AI Assistant service on 7 January 2026.
    • Agent i in chat is announced, not launched. On 2 July 2026 LY announced Agent i in chat, which will let you call its AI agent Agent i inside LINE one-to-one and group chats, with the answer shared with the whole chat. LY plans to offer it within 2026. Its press release list showed no launch announcement when we checked.
    • A scheduling agent, in Japan. Since 5 October 2026, a feature you switch on in LINE Labs helps friends pick a date for a plan in a LINE chat and can add the result to LINE Calendar. LY says it offers this in Japan.

For the other AI accounts on LINE, including business chatbots for LINE Official Accounts, see Best AI assistants for LINE (2026).

What to ask Cole on LINE

    • In the group: "Cole, remind everyone on Friday at 6pm to bring the deposit." Cole posts the reminder in the group at that time. See AI reminders for WhatsApp and LINE groups.
    • In the group: "Cole, what did we decide about the venue?" Cole answers from the group's own messages.
    • In the group: "Cole, remind @Nok about the tickets." Cole can @mention members it has seen write in the group, so they get a LINE notification.
    • In your private chat: "Draft an email to the landlord to confirm Saturday's viewing." Cole drafts it from your connected email and asks before it goes out.
    • In your private chat, on paid plans: "Call the restaurant and book a table for four on Saturday." Cole confirms the number and purpose before it dials. It can call numbers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Thailand.

Cole replies in the language you write in, Thai included. In a group that uses several languages, you can tell Cole which one to answer in.

    Honest limits

    • Cole never sees messages from before it joined a group.
    • Until someone in a group agrees to pay for it, Cole does not answer members who have no Pocodot account.
    • Some group settings, such as letting only members of your account use Cole and a monthly credit limit per person, currently apply to WhatsApp groups only.
    • Every answer uses Pocodot credits. The free plan has 150 one-time credits, and phone calls need a paid plan.
    • A group with another LINE Official Account already in it has no room for Cole, by LINE's own rule.

We make Cole. For LY Corporation's products we used only LY's own pages, listed under Sources.

    About Cole

    Frequently asked questions

How do I add an AI assistant to LINE?
Add Cole as a LINE friend: search @pocodot or open lin.ee/WY8gSoF, then send Cole a message. If you are new, tap Start with Cole and sign in with LINE; you get 150 one-time credits. To use Cole in a group, invite it into the group and call it by name, @mention it or reply to one of its messages.
Is the AI in my LINE group the same as the one in my private chat?
Yes, it is the same Cole, but what it works from is kept apart. Your private chat uses your own notes and your connected email and calendar. A LINE group uses only that group's messages and notes, never anyone's private chats, and Cole's replies there are seen by everyone in the group.
Why can't I add Cole to a LINE group that already has a bot?
LINE's developer documentation says only one LINE Official Account can be in a group chat at any time. Cole runs as a LINE Official Account, so a group that already has a shop's account or another bot in it has no place for Cole until that account leaves.
Does LINE have its own AI assistant?
LY Corporation ended LINE AI Assistant on 7 January 2026. In July 2026 it announced Agent i in chat, to call its AI agent Agent i inside LINE one-to-one and group chats, planned within 2026; we found no launch announcement when we checked on 21 October 2026. A scheduling agent for picking dates in a LINE chat is offered in Japan.
Is there an official ChatGPT on LINE?
We found no official ChatGPT or Gemini account on LINE when we checked on 12 October 2026. LINE accounts that use those names are run by third parties. Cole is Pocodot's own assistant on LINE, and it works in LINE groups.
Does everyone in the LINE group need a Pocodot account?
Not once someone with an account pays for the group. Members with a Pocodot account are answered from their own credits, and Cole asks them in a private chat whether their account should pay for everyone. After one of them says yes, anyone in the group can ask Cole, with or without an account. Until then, Cole does not answer members who have no account.
How much does an AI assistant on LINE cost?
Cole is free to start with 150 one-time credits. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 2,000 credits, and phone calls need a paid plan. In a group, the account that agreed to pay for the group pays for Cole's replies.
