AI reminders for your WhatsApp and LINE groups

To get reminders in a WhatsApp or LINE group, add Cole to the group and write something like "Cole, remind everyone on Friday at 6pm to bring the deposit". At that time Cole posts the reminder in the same group so everyone sees it, and it can repeat it every week if you ask.

Set a group reminder in 4 steps

    01
    Add Cole to the group
On WhatsApp, add the same Cole number you chat with as a participant (WhatsApp guide). On LINE, add @pocodot as a friend and invite Cole into the group (LINE guide).
    02
Ask in the group: what, when and for whom
Write it the way you would say it to a person: Cole, remind everyone on Friday at 6pm to bring the deposit. A reminder set in the group goes to the group.
    03
    Check Cole's confirmation
Cole says the day, time and time zone back. If something is off, say so: Cole, make it 7pm instead.
    04
Cole posts it when it is due
At that time Cole sends the reminder in the same group, as a normal message from Cole. Everyone in the group gets it like any other message.
    For something that repeats
Say how often: "Cole, every Monday at 9am remind the group to post their hours." Cole sets up a daily or weekly schedule. To protect the group from spam, Cole sends at most 3 reminders an hour in a group, at least 20 minutes apart, and never as a series every few minutes.

Ideas that work well in groups

    Money and deposits
"Cole, remind everyone on the 25th at 10am to transfer their share for the villa."
    A weekly game
"Cole, every Thursday at 5pm ask who is coming to football on Saturday."
    A family birthday
"Cole, remind the group on 3 November at 9am that it is Mum's birthday."
    School runs
"Cole, every Sunday at 7pm remind us who does pick-up this week."
    Before a trip
"Cole, on 14 December at 8pm remind everyone to check in online for tomorrow's flight."
    Work groups
"Cole, every weekday at 9am remind the team to post today's plan."

    Time zones

Cole works out the time zone from the account's settings or the asker's phone number, or uses the one you name: "6pm Bangkok time" and "9am London time" both work. If a phone number's country has more than one time zone, such as the United States or Australia, Cole asks which one you mean. The confirmation always includes the time zone, so a mistake is easy to spot.

    Check, move or cancel

    • List: "Cole, what reminders are set for this group?"
    • Move: "Cole, move the deposit reminder to Saturday at 10am."
    • Cancel: "Cole, cancel the deposit reminder."
    • Stop a repeating one: "Cole, stop the Monday reminder."

Anyone in the group can ask Cole to list, move or cancel a one-time reminder there. Starting or stopping a repeating reminder needs someone from the account that pays for Cole in the group, unless that account allows everyone. To change a reminder's wording, cancel it and ask for a new one.

    What a reminder looks like

The reminder is the text Cole wrote when you set it, sent from Cole in the group. It does not tag or @mention anyone, so put names into the reminder when it is for someone in particular: "Cole, remind the group on Friday at 6pm that Ploy and Ben bring the drinks." The reminder is saved in the chat, so when someone later asks Cole about it, Cole knows which reminder they mean.

    Reminders just for you

Ask in your private chat with Cole instead: "remind me tomorrow at 9 to call the plumber." A reminder set in a private chat comes back to that private chat.

    What it costs

    • Setting, moving or cancelling a reminder is priced like a short reply: a few credits.
    • A one-time reminder that is already set is still sent if the credits run out, at no charge.
    • Repeating reminders are skipped while the paying account has no credits, and the account is told.
    • In a group, credits come from the group's payer, the account that agreed to pay for the group when Cole asked; until someone has, from the account of the person who asked.

Cole is free to start with 150 one-time credits. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 2,000 credits. See current plans.

    Other apps

Group reminders work the same way in Telegram groups, iMessage groups and Slack channels. See Telegram groups and iMessage groups.

    Frequently asked questions

Can an AI send reminders to my WhatsApp group?
Yes. Add Cole to the group and write something like "Cole, remind everyone on Friday at 6pm to bring the deposit". At that time Cole posts the reminder in the same group, so everyone in the chat sees it.
How do I set a reminder for everyone in a LINE group?
Invite Cole (@pocodot) into the LINE group and ask in the group itself: "Cole, remind everyone on Saturday at 9am that we meet at the station." Cole confirms the day, time and time zone, then posts the reminder in the group when it is due.
Can an AI remind my group every week?
Yes. Ask "Cole, every Friday at 6pm remind the group to pay for the court." Cole sets up a weekly schedule. Daily works too. In a group, Cole sends at most 3 reminders an hour, at least 20 minutes apart, and never a burst every few minutes.
Will the reminder tag people in the group?
No. A reminder arrives as a normal message from Cole in the group, so everyone gets it like any other message, but it does not @mention anyone. Write the person's name into the reminder if it is meant for them.
Who can cancel a reminder in a group?
Anyone in the group can ask Cole to list, move or cancel a one-time reminder there. Starting or stopping a repeating reminder needs someone from the account that pays for Cole in the group, unless that account allows everyone.
Does it cost anything to send reminders to a group?
Setting, moving or cancelling a reminder is priced like a short reply: a few credits. A one-time reminder that is already set is still sent if the credits run out, at no charge. Repeating reminders are skipped while the paying account has no credits, and the account is told. Cole is free to start with 150 one-time credits.
Can I schedule a message to my group from my private chat?
Not as a scheduled post yet. From your private chat, the account owner or an admin can have Cole post a message in their group right away, after approving the exact text. For a reminder at a later time, ask Cole in the group itself.
