AI for WhatsApp group and community admins

Cole helps WhatsApp group admins by answering members' questions from what has been posted in the group, posting reminders at set times, recapping long threads and translating on request. Add Cole to each group where members talk, rather than to the community as a whole; from your private chat you decide who can use it and what each person may spend.

    What Cole can take on

    Repeat questions
Post the details once, such as the meeting place or the rules, and members can ask "Cole, where do we meet on Thursday?" Cole answers from what was written in the group.
    Reminders
"Cole, every Monday at 9am remind the group of this week's session."
    Recaps
"Cole, summarize today's discussion for people who missed it."
    Translation
Reply to a message: "Cole, translate this into English."
    A note to the group
From your private chat, ask Cole to post a message in your group. Cole shows the exact text and posts it after your yes.
    Rules for Cole
"Cole, from now on only answer when someone asks you a question."

Guides for each: reminders, recaps, translation and polls.

Controls for the account that pays

From your private chat with Cole, the account owner or an admin can:

    • Turn Cole off in one group.
    • Let only members of your account use Cole in your groups.
    • Set a monthly credit limit per person.
    • Leave someone out.
    • Post a message you approved in one of your groups right away, up to 6 such posts an hour across your groups.

These controls are for WhatsApp groups. To remove Cole, remove it like any other participant; Cole never leaves a group on its own. One account pays for Cole's replies in a group: the person who said yes when Cole asked in a private chat. Nobody becomes the payer without saying yes. Until someone does, each person with their own Pocodot account pays for their own questions. A WhatsApp group Cole has newly joined can try Cole once for free: someone without an account may get one short answer to a text question, with a line on how to link an account. Requests that need tools, files or live data need an account. Otherwise, Cole may post a short note on how to set the group up.

    Communities

A WhatsApp community bundles groups with an announcement group, where only community admins can send announcements and members can reply, react and vote in polls (WhatsApp Help Center). Cole is added to a group as a participant, not to a community: add it to the groups inside the community where members talk. Cole cannot join from an invite link, and that includes a community link.

    Limits to know

    • Cole only knows what was posted after it joined. Post the group's key details again after you add it.
    • In a busy group, Cole reads the most recent stretch of the conversation in full and a shorter summary of older messages, so repost key details now and then.
    • Cole answers only when someone tags it, uses its name or replies to it. It does not greet new members or post on its own when someone joins.
    • Approving join requests, deleting messages and pinning stay with the group's admins. Cole does not do them.
    • Someone who joins later is answered from what was said after they joined. If an answer needs something from before, Cole first asks the account that pays for the group, in its private chat.
    • Apart from the one free answer a new group may get, every answer uses Pocodot credits: the group payer's, or until someone says yes, the asker's own. Cole is free to start with 150 one-time credits, and paid plans start at $19 a month for 2,000 credits.

    What Meta AI offers admins

Meta says Meta AI, as a group member, can help admins of large groups and communities by sharing group rules and setting up alerts, and that it cannot change group settings. It is free for everyday use where Meta offers it. A detailed comparison: Cole vs Meta AI in WhatsApp groups.

How to add Cole to your WhatsApp group

    01
    Sign up and connect WhatsApp
Create a free Pocodot account and choose WhatsApp. The dashboard opens WhatsApp with a one-time code already typed; send it to Cole and Cole replies in your private chat.
    02
Add Cole's number to the group
Add the same Cole number you just messaged as a participant, the way you add anyone. Cole cannot join from an invite link, and it cannot see messages from before it joined.
    03
Tag Cole once from your number
Send @Cole hi in the group from the WhatsApp number on your account. Cole answers from your own credits, then asks you once, in your private chat, whether your account should pay for everyone in the group. Say yes, and everyone in the group can ask Cole. Nobody becomes the payer without saying yes.
