An AI quiz host for your group chat
Add Cole, the AI assistant by Pocodot, to your LINE, Telegram, iMessage, WhatsApp or Slack group and ask: "Cole, start a quiz: one film question." Cole posts one question, players answer by replying to Cole or calling it by name, and Cole tells each player whether they got it right. Ask for the next question when the group is ready. Each question and each check is usually a short reply, at most 3 credits, paid by the account that pays for Cole in the group.

How to run a quiz in your group, step by step
- Add Cole to the group. Add Cole the way your app adds anyone: on LINE, add @pocodot as a friend and invite Cole into the group; on Telegram, connect Telegram to your Pocodot account and add @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot to the group; on iMessage and WhatsApp, add Cole's number to the group. The setup guide for each app is linked below. You need a Pocodot account, free to start with 150 one-time credits and no card.
- Ask Cole once and say who pays. Ask Cole something in the group. On LINE, iMessage and WhatsApp, Cole answers from your own credits, then asks you once, in your private chat with Cole, whether your account should pay for everyone in the group. Say yes, and the others can ask Cole without an account of their own. On these three apps nobody becomes the payer without saying yes, and the group is not told who pays. On Telegram, the account of the person who added Cole to the group pays for everyone's questions there, if they had connected Telegram to their Pocodot account before adding Cole, and the others need no account.“Cole, hello”
- Start the quiz. Name a theme, a level or a language if you like. Cole posts one question and stops there. If you want first right answer wins, say so when you start: Cole goes by the order in which the answers reach it.“Cole, start a quiz: one film question”
- Answer so Cole sees it. Reply to Cole's question or start the answer with Cole's name. On Telegram, reply to Cole's message or tag @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot; on iMessage, start with "Cole,". An answer that does neither may not reach Cole, and it costs nothing.“Cole, Canberra”
- Cole checks it. Cole says whether each answer it gets is right. When the group gives up, ask for the answer.“Cole, what's the answer?”
- Next question, and the score at the end. Ask for the next question when the group is ready: Cole does not keep going on its own. There is no built-in scoreboard. At the end, ask who got the most right, and Cole counts from the game's messages. That works for one evening's game; for a league that runs for weeks, keep the totals yourself and post them in the group.“Cole, who got the most right tonight?”
How players reach Cole in each app
Cole answers a message that is meant for it. On WhatsApp and iMessage, when Cole asks the whole group a question, the first answer within two minutes reaches Cole even without its name; after that, and in the other apps, answer as below.
| App | How a message reaches Cole | Setup guide |
|---|---|---|
| LINE | Start with "Cole,", @mention Cole, or reply to one of Cole's messages. | How to add AI to a LINE group |
| Telegram | Tag @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot (pick it from the list after @) or reply to one of Cole's messages. | How to add AI to a Telegram group |
| iMessage | Start the message with "Cole,". A reply to Cole needs the name too. | How to add AI to an iMessage group chat |

Ideas for a group quiz
- A weekly question: "Cole, every Friday at 8pm post one film trivia question here." A repeating request runs on the credits of the Pocodot account it is set on, and starting or stopping one in a group needs someone from that account, unless the account allows everyone.
- Multiple choice: "Cole, a geography question with four options."
- Harder or easier: "Cole, make the next one harder."
- Explain it: "Cole, explain the answer in two sentences."
- Another language: "Cole, ask the next question in Thai." Cole replies in the language you write in.
What a quiz costs
- Each question Cole posts and each answer it checks is a reply, paid in credits by the account that pays for Cole in the group. Until someone pays for the group, each player with an account pays for their own.
- A short reply (under 300 characters) where Cole uses no tools costs at most 3 credits. A question where Cole searches the web costs up to 15.
- Answers that don't reach Cole cost nothing.
- For example, a 10-question round where Cole checks two answers per question is about 30 short replies: at most about 90 credits.
- Every new account gets 150 free credits, one time.
Frequently asked questions
Can an AI host a quiz in a group chat?
Yes. Add Cole, the AI assistant by Pocodot, to your LINE, Telegram, iMessage, WhatsApp or Slack group and ask "Cole, start a quiz: one film question." Cole posts one question, tells each player whether their answer is right, and posts the next question when someone asks for it.
How do players answer so Cole sees it?
Reply to Cole's question or start the answer with Cole's name, such as "Cole, Canberra". On Telegram, reply to Cole's message or tag @Cole_chief_of_staff_bot. On iMessage, start with "Cole,". On WhatsApp and iMessage, the first answer within two minutes of a question Cole asks the whole group reaches Cole even without its name.
Does Cole keep score?
There is no built-in scoreboard. At the end of a game, ask "Cole, who got the most right tonight?" and Cole counts from the game's messages. For a league that runs for weeks, keep the totals yourself and post them in the group.
Does every player need a Pocodot account?
No, once one account pays for the group. On LINE, iMessage and WhatsApp, that is the account that said yes, in its private chat with Cole, to paying for everyone in the group. On Telegram, the account of the person who added Cole to the group pays for everyone's questions there, if they had connected Telegram to their Pocodot account before adding Cole. Until a group has a payer, Cole answers the players who have their own account, from their own credits.
What does a group quiz cost?

Can Cole post a quiz question every week?
Yes. Ask "Cole, every Friday at 8pm post one film trivia question here." A repeating request runs on the credits of the Pocodot account it is set on, and starting or stopping one in a group needs someone from that account, unless the account allows everyone.
